Communication and Information for Democracy:
One of the key components of grassroots democracy is to be able to examine issues from various points of view to help clarify ideas and proposals and, therefore, our understanding of issues for the benefit of society, at the local, regional, national and international levels. The democratic process requires information and communication which is basic to election freedom and participation in society, including materials to promote dialogue, ideas and analysis of different social issues.

Access to communication and information is the way to ensure freedom of expression. It is very important for the less visible sectors of society to be given a voice through greater access to both the alternative and mass media.
